Service interruption due to pipe intervention.
Service interruptions due to interventions in operating pipes are common challenges in the mining industry. However, the application of Hot Tapping technology offers an innovative solution by allowing connections to HDPE pipes without the need to cut off the fluid flow. This revolutionary technology effectively addresses operational issues by facilitating connections and branches without interrupting mining production, thus ensuring continuity of operations.
The Hot Tapping process involves drilling into the HDPE pipe while it is in service, allowing for the installation of connection fittings without halting mining activities. This method not only saves time but also optimizes efficiency and reduces costs associated with unscheduled shutdowns, which is essential for maintaining profitability in the mining industry.
Implement Hot Tapping in your mining operations to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime. This solution makes a significant difference in the continuity and productivity of your mining processes.
Fluid Loss Due to Geomembrane Ruptures
To prevent fluid loss, we implement the advanced continuous monitoring system for geomembranes from our partner, Texplor Group. This system uses sensors installed directly on the geomembrane, which detect leaks immediately through electrical signals, allowing for proactive and precise management of any issues.
This technology provides a comprehensive solution for assessing the condition of the geomembrane by enabling the identification and precise location of faults in the reservoir without the need to drain it. It facilitates the planning and execution of repairs with maximum efficiency, ensuring the integrity and durability of your installations.

Risk Safety: Incorrect Fluid Identification on Site
In mining environments, safety is paramount, particularly in the accurate identification of fluids on-site. COLORMAX pipes, made from HDPE, are designed to meet this critical need. Their coextruded colored outer layer not only provides clear and reliable identification of the transported fluids or materials but also includes color-coded lines to indicate the nominal pressure, thereby enhancing safety and efficiency in mining operations.
The use of color coding facilitates the quick and safe identification of piping systems, reducing the risk of errors that could compromise on-site safety. With COLORMAX, you’re not just acquiring pipes but a comprehensive solution that addresses the specific needs of the mining industry, combining safety, efficiency, and reliability in every operation.
Optimization of Irrigation in the Leaching Process
In our ongoing effort to optimize the leaching process in mining, we have developed a piping concept to address the operational and maintenance challenges associated with uneven irrigation of leaching piles. Our strategy focuses on ensuring uniform irrigation throughout the leaching cycle by utilizing an optimized irrigation matrix and advanced products.
Conventional black pipes tend to absorb UV rays, leading to fluctuations in expansion, contraction, and bending due to temperature variations. These fluctuations can hinder the even distribution of irrigation. To overcome these challenges, we have implemented the white HDPE STABLEMAX pipe, which reduces heat absorption and enhances pipe stability, ensuring more uniform irrigation.
Additionally, we have incorporated Senninger pressure regulators to counteract pressure drops in the matrices and branches, ensuring a constant pressure in the lines and, consequently, uniform irrigation across the entire irrigated area. This facilitates the application of recommended irrigation rates from a metallurgical perspective. We also keep sprinklers perpendicular to the surface to avoid constant adjustments throughout the day, optimizing operation and improving recovery in the leaching process. Furthermore, we offer dust control solutions through Senninger, contributing to a safer and more efficient work environment.
We are committed to providing solutions that not only address daily challenges in mining but also drive efficiency and effectiveness throughout the leaching process.
Pipe Branches: Interruptions, Costs, and Risks
When branching pipes in mining environments, it is crucial to avoid issues associated with pipe cutting, such as flow interruptions, additional costs, and safety risks. To address these challenges, we offer the innovative “Ramal” device. This device, designed as a sleeve, is electrofused to the existing pipe to connect new production lines without interrupting the flow of liquids or gases. In addition to enabling the connection of new lines, the “Ramal” also facilitates the integration of valves, pressure gauges, and other accessories.
The main advantage of the “Ramal” in mining environments is its ability to perform branching without cutting the existing pipe, ensuring continuous installation at any point along the line. This approach not only simplifies pressure testing before installation but also enhances safety by eliminating the need for heavy equipment and machinery in mining areas.
Available in a wide range of diameters, from 160 mm to 1200 mm, and with outlets ranging from 90 mm to 400 mm, the “Ramal” is a versatile and efficient solution for branching needs in the mining sector, ensuring a continuous and safe flow of liquids and gases in operations.
Anchoring Issues in Pools Lined with Geomembranes
In the mining context, using geomembranes to line pools is crucial but presents specific challenges, such as constant exposure to UV radiation and the need for effective anchoring during extended periods of pool drainage. Replacing sandbags as an anchoring method can address two main issues: reducing the labor required to fill the bags and ensuring durable anchoring even during long periods of pool inactivity. This change may involve adopting alternative anchoring systems like TANKMAX, which are UV-resistant and require less maintenance, thereby optimizing operational efficiency in mining environments.
